For the past 25 years I’ve been studying the Mass. A lot. Of the 200 or so books on my bookshelf, only about 10 are not related to the Mass.
I’ve put together a multimedia presentation titled Why the Mass.
The 1 hour talk answers:
- Why we go to Mass.
- Why must we eat the Eucharist.
- Why the Eucharist is not a symbol.
- What correlation the Mass has with the Last Supper and the Passover Seder.
- Why Jesus is called the Lamb of God.
- What happened at the ascension and why is it critical to our salvation.
Beginning with the Book of Genesis, the talk explains how the liturgy is the culmination of Scripture, restoring what was lost in Eden.
Why the Mass is a birds eye view—a big picture of the liturgy. It is not, however, a watered down primer. Deacons and priests have confessed that they’ve learned something new after hearing “Why the Mass.”
Listeners will go away knowing “so THAT’S why I go to Mass!” They will understand that the Mass is a divinely instituted Sacrament, rooted in Scripture and tempered by tradition. It is the holiest thing we can do on earth. The greatest mystery. The most perfect form of prayer. A most inconceivable act of love!
I am enamored with the Mass and it would be my pleasure to speak to your group and share my enthusiasm. It matters not how big or small the group:
- Young Adult Groups
- Bible Study Groups
- Prayer Groups
- Home Communities
- Men’s Groups
- Emmaus
- Knights of Columbus
- Retreats
- Parishes
Presently, time constraints and family obligations dictate that I can only give talks within the Archdiocese of Miami, FL.
